South Australian Priority Groups

In South Australia Youth Connections will be available to eligible young people aged 13 - 19; however preference will be given to certain groups.

Young people aged 15 and 16 who are disengaged from school or an approved learning program and are facing multiple and complex barriers; for example, those who are under the Guardianship of the Minister, in or exiting the juvenile justice system, homeless, suffering mental illness and/or have drug and alcohol additions.

Young people aged 17 - 19 who are disengaged from school or an approved learning program and are facing multiple and complex barriers; for example, those who are under the Guardianship of the Minister, in or exiting the juvenile justice system, homeless, suffering mental illness and/or have drug and alcohol additions.

Young people aged 13 - 19 who are on the brink of leaving school or an approved learning program who have high levels of unexplained absenteeism, or who have recently disengaged from education (within the last 3 months), who may be referred by schools.

Young People aged 13 - 19 who have left shcool or their approved learning program (within the last 3 months), who may be referred by local service organisations, community based service providers, other local bodies, parents, friends or self referred.

Young people aged 13 - 19 who are at risk and who are not able to access other services.
