An initiative of the Government of South Australia, South Australian Works, The ‘Tune-Up Program: For the Community; By the Community’ is for working age adults in the community – long term unemployed and/or returning to work who, because they experience difficulties in participating in learning activities and/or gaining employment have been socially and/or economically isolated.

In partnership with TAFE SA, we will provide eligible participants with individualised assistance, mentoring and support, community integration and nationally accredited learning activities (Certificate I in IVEC), in an active and engaging and encouraging environment; in a holistic and informal setting to maximise outcome potential in motivation, health and wellbeing, whilst encouraging reintegration into the community – and ultimately, into further learning and employment pathways.

Literacy and numeracy will underpin this. From motivation to confidence building, to communicating and working in a group; from writing applications, to  conceptualising, developing and implementing an event; from getting a driver’s license to getting a makeover; from getting fit to learning new skills, participants can also choose to request core literacy and numeracy support in confidence with the facilitator.
